AI Chinese Chess – XiangQi No.1 2023.03.23
Chengdu, China – On March 23, 2023, transnational AI competition “XiangQi No.1” was unveiled in Chengdu, China. Two divisions are featured in the competition, competition among top AI mechanisms and competition among ordinary players.
Highly Anticipated Event
The XiangQi No.1 event is highly anticipated by fans of the ancient Chinese chess game. It is the first large-scale AI game competition to be approved by the Chinese government. The organizer of the event is the Artificial Intelligence Association of China (AIAC).

The stakes are high for this competition, as the winner of the AI section will be instantly recognized as a master player and receive a $1 million prize. For the ordinary players’ competition, the champion will be recognized as a master player and receive a $100,000 prize. There is also a special award for the best player that is able to beat all eight AI mechanisms.
